Thumb Screws feature a large, flat oval gripping area in place of a head, at the top of the shaft. The shaft is threaded over its entire length. Thumb screws are used in applications in which frequent unfastening and fastening are required.
InStock Fasteners offers two types of thumb screws. The Plain Thumb Screw features a simple oval-shaped gripping area above the shaft. The Shoulder Thumb Screw has a round ridge separating the shaft and the gripping area, as well as a smaller, narrower grip. Both thumb screws have flat ends like those of machine screws.
